It includes energy saving features like auto standby mode after 10 minutes, and powering off and on in sync with your computer. It includes automatic backup software, heat preventive design, and "smart shutdown" to prevent shutdown before data has completed writing to the drive. It weighs only 2.5 pounds but comes in sizes up to 2TB- an excellent combo of size, storage and performance.
